Rumon Gamba, BBC Concert Orchestra - The Film Music of John Addison (2007) [Hi-Res]

John Addison won an Academy Award for Best Score for Tom Jones in 1963. Prior to his Hollywood years he wrote a number of film scores for British war films, including Reach for the Sky, based on the story of Douglas Bader. The sympathetic score for Richard Attenborough's film A Bridge Too Far is well known and Addison's television work included the popular Murder, She Wrote, starring Angela Lansbury. This disc covers 16 films in all gives an excellent overview of Addison's achievements as a composer for film and television with Rumon Gamba conducting the BBC Concert Orchestra. It also comes with another great cover design from Cassidy Rayne Creative.
