The concept for Johannes Luley's latest album "Follow Your Heart" was conceived during the early month of the pandemic. This gorgeously produced collection of tunes show yet another facet of Johannes' colorful career as an artist and guitarist. It showcases compositions by ECM allumni John Abercrombie, Kenny Wheeler, Eberhard Weber, Manfred Schoof and Ralph Towner, as well as a couple of compositions by John McLaughlin and the Miles Davis classic "Blue in Green".
Johannes is accompanied by two excellent Swedish musicians, Jonas Lindeborg on trumpet and flugelhgorn, and David Hughes on upright bass. His Perfect Beings band mate Dicki Fliszar is playing the drums, and Max Kaplan plays soprano sax as well as bass clarinet. The resulting record continues Johannes' trademark production sound.
