Grzegorz Cimoszko, Richard Fuller - Bach: Die Flötensonaten (2014)

Johann Sebastian Bach's works for the emerging transverse flute were always in the shadow of his monumental partitas, suites and sonatas for violin and cello solo. In addition, there is the fact that of the seven sonatas for flute and harpsichord obligato or basso continuo included in Bach's work catalogue only four can undoubtedly be attributed to Bach today. But the three non-authentic works can absolutely bear comparison with those of the maestro and this is why Bach research assumes the composer was among his pupils or even one of his sons. With their astonishingly fresh interpretation, Grzegorz Cimoszko, flute, and Richard Fuller, harpsichord, give these unjustly under-rated works new splendor.

Grzegorz Cimoszko receives his superior diploma of flute at the National Superior Conservatory of Music of Warsaw, and perfects himself with Jean-Pierre Rampal in Paris and Julius Baker in New York, as well as at the Académie Internationale d?été in Montpellier (France). He is laureate of the National Flute Competition in Poland. He was solo flute in the "Polish Chamber Orchestra", in the Wind Quintet of Warsaw as well as in the National Orchestra of Warsaw from 1981 to 1996.
Grzegorz Cimoszko performed as a soloist in Europe, in both Americas, among other places at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 1995, and the Casals Hall in Tokyo.
He recorded many CDs with the Polish label "Dux" with works by Telemann, Bach etc. as well as the premiere of the Four Seasons of Vivaldi on the flute, which was produced by the label "Pony Canyon" in Japan.
With his wife Yoshiko Okada, he organized the "Festival Okada" through the "Okada Foundation", of which he is co-founder and administrator. In parallel to his career as a soloist, Grzegorz Cimoszko teaches at the Mozart Music School in Brussels, where he devotes himself to the musical development and nurturing of young children.

Since relocating to Vienna, Austria over two decades ago, Richard Fuller has emerged as a major interpreter of the fortepiano repertoire. He has performed in Vienna's Konzerthaus, Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, London's Wigmore Hall and innumerable other major venues and festivals in Europe, USA and Central America.
Live concerts in radio and television, film music, broadcast productions for German Radio (Cologne), North German Radio (Hamburg), Austrian National Radio, BBC and the Hungarian National Radio as well as numerous CD recordings in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovakia. Fuller's discography includes works by Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and C.P.E. Bach as well as noted premiere recordings of the piano Quartets of J. B. Vanhal with Musica Aeterna Bratislava, the solo piano works of Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) and the recently-completed cycle of 12 piano sonatas of Hyacinthe Jadin (1776-1800).
