Lian Ross is a German singer, songwriter and composer. In 1999-2003, the vocalist of the band Fun Factory. The wife of Spanish music producer Luis Rodriguez, known for working with Modern Talking. Currently lives in Majorca.
Josefina Hibel's musical career began with an acquaintance with Luis Rodriguez at the age of 18. In 1981, the first two singles Do The Rock and I Know were recorded under the pseudonym Josy, and in subsequent years Mama Say (1983) and Magic (1984).
In 1985, assuming the pseudonym Lian Ross, the singles Fantasy and Say You'll Never were released, and under the pseudonym Creative Connection — Call My Name, Scratch My Name and a cover of the song by the band Modern Talking You're My Heart, You're My Soul.
In 1986, another hit It's Up To You was created, which, together with Fantasy, was at the top of the German charts and dance floors for many months. In the same year, she recorded the single Neverending Love in two versions ("RAP" and "SONG"), for which a video clip was shot. Creative Connection also recorded the single Don't You Go Away.
A year later, Lian Ross released the single Oh Won't You Tell Me. In the same year, a cover version of the single Do You Wanna Funk was recorded.
In 1988, the single Say Say Say was recorded, subsequently released on CD in the synthpop style.
In 1989, there was a metamorphosis associated with the recording of the single Feel So Good in the house style. 2 video clips were shot for it, and the single itself became the soundtrack to the movie Mystical Pizza.
In the following years, the singer began recording under new pseudonyms (in various musical genres), such as Dana Harris (funk, soul), Divina (house, reggae) or Tears n' Joy (Eurodance).
In 1991-1993, she wrote various mixes and covers of famous songs, such as Gimme Gimme Gimme, Rhythm is a Dancer, All That She Wants, etc.
In 1993, she recorded the single Trying to Forget You and a remix of the 1985 song Fantasy, and a year later the single Keep This Feeling in 3 variations: Club Mix, Out of Galaxy Mix and Italo Mix.
After 1994, there was a time-out in recordings as Lian Ross (not counting the subsequent Fantasy club remixes in 1998 and 2004). At the same time, she focused on writing lyrics, collaborating with other artists, as well as releasing singles under new pseudonyms in various musical genres, in particular, in 1995, as Tears n' Joy, she recorded her first album Enjoy.
In the late 90s, she moved to Spain, where her husband Luis founded Studio 33.
In 1998, the singer participated in the project 2 Eivissa, and a year later joined the new line-up of Fun Factory, where she recorded two albums: Next Generation (1999) and ABC of Music (2003).
2003 brought another album "Are You Ready", on which the Spanish influence is heard.
At the end of 2004, performing at the Moscow Autoradio festival "Disco of the 80s", Lian Ross made herself felt with the songs Say You'll Never and Scratch My Name. A year later, she released the compilation The Best Of... and the singles I Wanna and Never Gonna Lose.
In 2006-2008, Lian Ross collaborated with David Tavare, Mathias Reim and Oliver Lucas.
In 2009, she released a cover version of Candi Staton's song Young Hearts Run Free, which became a No. 1 hit on Spanish radio stations.
The single was presented on June 25, 2010 at the Yanikovo Festival together with Gazebo and Eddie Vata, where, in addition to the premiere song, she also performed her greatest hits.
Currently, Lian Ross is working on material for the new album "The Eighties: A New Generation".
