We introduce a selection of sacred works by Czech Baroque composer in a world premiere! It is a live recording with period instruments shot in December 2020. This recording turns its focus upon one of the most prominent persona of Czech music of the first half of 18th Century.

Antonín Reichenauer (1694? – 1730) lived and worked in the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) of Prague in count Morzin’s estate as a home composer. For the needs of the nobleman’s capella of exquisite quality he composed instrumental concertos which has seen its light in a modern premieres and recordings in previous years. But he is also an author of a huge number of sacred works which are devoid of any information as to whom or for which particular reasons they were composed. Out of the vast number we picked 8 offertories, Litaniae for the holiest name of Jesus, a mortuary motet and a great requiem – mass for the dead. Reichenauer’s music quality is undoubtedly so strong, easily to compare with the greatest Italian masters of his age and proves that Prague of the Baroque period belonged to one of the most important hearts of sacred music in the central Europe.
