Stix Hooper - The World Within (1979) LP

A classic Crusaders side-project from the end of the 70s – featuring Stix on drums and percussion, plus lots of sweet keyboards from Joe Sample! The set features plenty of great guest work too – with west coast fusion luminaries that include Bobby Hutcherson, Alphonson Johnson, Todd Cochrane, and Roland Bautista joining in from time to time. Production is by the whole Crusaders team, and the album's got a smooth jazzy groove throughout. Features a nice remake of "Little Drummer Boy", plus "Brazos River Breakdown", "African Spirit", "Rum Or Tequila", "Passion", and "Jasmine Breeze".
