6. Allegro 8:41
7. Larghetto 5:48
8. Menuetto 7:25
9. Allegretto con variazioni 8:52

The Schubert is my favorite performance in a very present and pleasant sound. Pressler plays with a great vitality and tenderness, with sensitive rubati. The strings are not quite at the same level, but still very amiable. My only reservation about the recording is that the double bass is not quite present enough. The SACD reincarnation is an improvement over the previous Philips CD, but not a vast one.

For me, the Mozart performance is nothing to write home about, and neither is the recording. I greatly prefer the Gervase de Peyer / Melos Ensemble on EMI in "modern" instruments and the Wolfgang Meyer / Mosaiques on Astree in "period" instruments (both, regretfully, CD only, not SACD).

This looks wonderful. I'd love a 16- or 24-bit flac. Thanks!
