Michal Urbaniak - Cinemode (1990/2021)

Polish violinist and saxophonist Michael Urbaniak was a fresh voice on the horizon when he arrived here in the early '70s and began recording. Unfortunately, Urbaniak's once-vital sound was quickly absorbed into the trendy fabric of fusion, and his music was diluted to the point where it was indistinguished and empty. This 1988 solo set, with Urbaniak free from commercial pressures and considerations, ranks as his most accomplished, intriguing release.
