Tex Williams - Best of the Best (Digitally Remastered) (2016)

Tex Williams rose to fame as lead vocalist of Spade Cooley’s fine western swing band of the 1940’s before striking out on his own with the huge smash “Smoke Smoke Smoke (That Cigarette)” which rose to the number one spot on the Billboard charts for six weeks in 1947. Presented here is a collection of material gleaned from the late 1950’s, early 1960’s and a rare session recorded in the late 1970’s featuring a wide repertoire of country hits. Joining Tex on “Where Do We Go From Here” and “Yankee Go Home” is guest vocalist Bonnie Sloan.
