Savages y Suefo - Brotherhood (The Greek Connection) (2021)

A második Savages y Suefo album, a 2018 végén megjelent Brotherhood mondanivalója akkoriban is időszerű volt, most viszont kicsit olyan, mintha háttérzene lenne a világban zajló eseményekhez. Az eredetileg blues, hip-hop, downtempo, jazz, reggae vagy funk elemekből építkező anyag remek nemzetközi és hazai közreműködőket vonultat fel. Ez a kiindulási alap kapott most újabb csavart.
Már tavaly készült néhány remix a számokhoz, elsőként a görög Blend Mishkin dubosította az „All My Life Is In This Bag”-et, majd a „Revolution!” kapott egy bulis funk átiratot egy régi baráttól, Vono Box-tól.
A dolgok ezután vettek furcsa fordulatot mivel úgy alakult, hogy korábbi csereremixek, vagy közös fellépés kapcsán több görög producer is képbe került (Supersan, mCurtis, Mister T). Így már adta magát az ötlet, hogy a „Brotherhood” remixlemeze legyen egy tabló Savages és Suefo kedvenc görög producereiről is. Az Agogo Records-os kiadótárs RSN és a fiúk saját kiadójához a Mana Mana Records-hoz szerződött smallFall remixeivel lett teljes a kép. Az ötlet bevált, érdekes, az eredeti számokat szépen továbbgondoló átiratok születtek.
A srácok két kiadatlan számmal egy vicces introval és két önremix-szel egészítették ki a görög kontingenst és tették még izgalmasabbá a Brotherhood: The Greek Connection című remixalbumukat. Ezt még fokozandó további két extra trekk egészíti ki a kollekciót, az egyik kizárólag a kiadó Bandcamp oldalán elérhető élő felvétel 2018-ból, a másik pedig az első lemezükről származó darab kiadatlan mixe, ami a csapat Soundcloud oldaláról tölthető le ingyenesen.

The second Savages y Suefo album, Brotherhood was released back in 2018 and its message was very actual at the time, but now it feels even more like the background music for the ongoing events of the world. Brotherhood blended various genres like blues, hip-hop, downtempo, jazz, reggae or funk and featured brilliant international and Hungarian contributors as well. All this good got another twist now.
Some remixes already emerged in 2019 and one of the first was made by Blend Mishkin from Greece. He did a nice dub version of „All My Life Is In This Bag”, and then and old friend Vono Box did a funk interpretation of „Revolution!”
Things then took a strange turn as several Greek producers (Supersan, mCurtis, Mister T) came into the picture at once due to previous remix swaps or joint performances. So the idea has already given itself that „Brotherhood” remix album should be a billboard for Savages and Suefo’s favorite Greek producers as well. The picture was completed by RSN, a fellow artist from Agogo Records and smallFall who was lately signed by the guys' own label Mana Mana Records.
The idea is worked out very well and the result is a pack of beautifully crafted remixes.
To make the remix album even more exciting Savages and Suefo added two unreleased tracks, a funny intro and two self-remixes as well to Brotherhood: The Greek Connection.
The already heavy collection is further enhanced by two more extra tracks, one live recording from 2018 available exclusively from Agogo Records' Bandcamp, and an unreleased mix from the guys first album, which can be downloaded for free from their Soundcloud site.
