The native Australian troubadour Michael Brinkworth is one of those characters who have made the capital's hectic appeal for themselves and therefore tries his luck from Berlin. So far, the man has acted more as a folkie - sometimes alone, sometimes with the duo project The Red Town Blues and sometimes with the band Wreck Heads. His first LP under his own name now offers a mix of all of this and clearly follows his idols - especially Dylan, of course - on the stony path of finding musical identity. If you've chosen a genre like Brinkworth, it's not that easy, of course, and so he tries to do it with his lyrics, which he uses to describe his vagabond life as a classic storyteller in the form of songs that mix the themes of wanderlust and homesickness in a suitable way . The fact that Brinkworth started out as a street musician can be heard on this disc as well as the fact that he doesn't think so much of current styles and musical fashions but - like his heroes - is satisfied in the classic old school setting.
