The recording quality is magnificent, the sound opening up thrillingly at climactic moments and capturing the voices in what seems like a completely natural acoustic. Excellent notes and a complete libretto (in Russian, English, German and French) complete an altogether impressive package. Very strongly recommended.

08 should be well known orchestral piece, sensual but predicting tragedy !
Clean but it needs more spooky and hair-raising in the Inferno (01-03 & 10) and more sensual in this world (04-09) ?
Almost there :p
This was composed just after honeymoon to Bayreuth but not so Wagnerian.
Librettist is a brother of Pyotr Tchaikovsky :)
Red clothed man on the right of cover is Virgil ( Vergilius) ?
Thank you ^.^
