Dayna Kurtz originally came from New Jersey, but nowadays she commutes between her wooden cabin on a river in Vermont and her house on another river in New Orleans. Although she is American, her musical career started in the Netherlands. In Europe she also reaps her greatest successes. Dayna toured with, among others, Richard Thompson, Elvis Costello, Richie Harbors, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Dr. ir. John, Rufus Wainright and Mavis Staples and may count Norah Jones as her girlfriend. With her, she even recorded the song 'I Got It Bad' for her album 'Beautiful Yesterday'. Two years after the release of 'Rise & Fall' she rejoices us with 'Here full. 1 'that was recorded with her regular guitarist Robert Mache, during her Dutch tour last year. For the playlist, Dayna dawdled in her rich repertoire. From her older work she distilled the ode to New Orleans 'Nola', 'I'll Be A Liar', the 'I Look Good In Bad' and 'Billboards For Jesus' that blew in blues and her hit 'Love Gets In The Way' 'can also be found on her 2004 album' Postcards From Downtown '. But also the catchy 'If I Go First' and the striking, waltzing 'Fred Astaire' rightly get a place on this wonderful live record, just like the folky, brown pub drinking drink song 'Raise The Last Glass'. Dayna has a voice from the thousand. What a nuance and with what power she puts these songs down. In addition, the subtle but functional guitar accompaniment of her regular guitarist Robert Mache puts her super beautiful voice in the spotlight once again. What also stands out is the perfect marriage between the electric and acoustic guitar.
"Here full. 1 'is an album to cherish and secretly I hope that this masterpiece soon gets a sequel with full. 2. Dayna Kurtz gives me, at least, early in the year an album that will undoubtedly get a place in my 2017 albums. A super recommendation!
