At the age of 25, Jonathan Fritzen has already made a mark in the music scene, as the first pianist from Sweden to release a "smooth jazz" album. His debut CD Love Birds features eleven original songs, ranging from silky smooth ballads to funky urban beats. Although piano is his main instrument, Fritzen has also written, arranged, recorded, mixed and produced the album, and plays all the instruments himself, including piano, keyboards, guitar, bass, flute, percussion, drums and vocals.

Breezy, sophisticated piano playing and hip, stylish songs -- LOVE BIRDS, the debut from 25-year-old Swede Jonathan Fritzen. The eleven original compositions convey a crisp, signature sound that will introduce this talented recording artist as an instant star. Born in Stockholm to a Swedish mother and an American father, Jonathan grew up in a musical family. On LOVE BIRDS he handles everything... from writing, playing and vocalizing to producing the album. A graduate from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Jonathan is one of the first students to receive a Masters Degree from the Jazz dept. With all eyes currently on another Swedish musical sensation (Mama Mia in theaters worldwide) the charismatic young artist has chosen the perfect time to present his LOVE BIRDS. No stranger to fame, the bright-eyed Fritzen has worked on popular TV shows in his homeland and has played with some of the country s biggest stars. When I spoke to Jonathan, I asked what influenced him to write Smooth Jazz and his answer was that he s been listening to SmoothJazz.com since he was teenager! Bob James and Paul Hardcastle fans will be smitten by Fritzen. The tasty Temple of Dreams is the first single, but I m also very fond of the urban groove track Back 2 The Club, the sensually cinematic, Midnight Secrets, and the hooky Like A Star. LOVE BIRDS soars! /Sandy Shore
