Judging from the "customers also bought..." listings here on Amazon, those who appreciate Dane Donohue also like Stephen Bishop, Ned Doheny, David Roberts and Terence Boylan, which helps tell you where Donohue is coming from on this album. The nearest comparison is David Roberts, as Donohue is more uptempo than Boylan or Bishop.
This is a classy, crisp rock album which, for reasons that I cannot understand, didn't get the exposure that it deserved. In truth, I wouldn't have encountered it myself but for a tip from a friend in the music business.
'Casablanca' and 'Dance with a Stranger' are outstanding, but there isn't a weak track on the album. Contributing musicians include Jai Winding, Victor Feldman, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, J.D. Souther, Larry Carlton, Herb Pedersen, Jay Graydon, Bill Champlin, Steve Lukather, Tom Kelly...the list goes on. This under-recognised album from 1978 is a class act.
