Splash was a folk music-influenced jazz rock group from Söderhamn that was active 1969-79 (several of the members had during the 1960s played together in the pop group Why from the same city).

Splash created its very own "sound" by playing with odd beats (for example 7/4, 15/16) and distinctive sounds. In the beginning, the group was characterized by a series of membership changes, but from 1973 a stable constellation had been formed. Despite the complete lack of commercial success, the group eventually gained a significant reputation among experts in the music industry, not only in Sweden but also in Belgium, Czechoslovakia and Norway, where it had its largest audience. They also started their own record company Plask Records, where the proceeds went to new productions.
