Largely unnoticed by the world beyond the Iron Curtain, an extremely vital jazz and soul scene developed in the GDR. Klaus Lenz, for example, gathered creative musicians trained to the highest level of craftsmanship around him and earned a reputation as a foster father and teacher of the big band music and soul music of the time. Uschi Brüning is considered the female voice of jazz of that era. Discovered by Klaus Lenz, she established herself as the most important jazz singer in the GDR. Manfred Krug, the darling of the public of the time, was a great actor and singer in show business. The concert at the German Hygiene Museum in 1971 is one of the culmination points: Here, the most important musicians came together and, thanks to excellent recording technology, a contemporary document was created that archives the artistic-musical sound as a sonic reference work - for fans, researchers and simply music lovers who want to add a real rarity to their collection.
