A contemporary jazz quartet with one foot firmly rooted in tradition explores dense harmonies and infectious grooves buffered by moments of softness and lullaby. The relatively youthful ensemble maneuvers through mostly original compositions as well as a couple of reworked standards in a recording which asserts the bright positivity of the collaborators underpinned by thoughtfulness and sincerity. The group’s simpatico and cohesiveness flourishes with conversations between guitarist Yoav Eshed and pianist Lex Korten through a multitude of melodic and harmonic interplay, affirmed by bassist Massimo Biolcati - and all of it buoyed by a progression of bubbling and evolving rhythms from drummer Jongkuk Kim.
