Don McGlashan - Lucky Stars (2015)

Written mostly in a windswept bach on the Thames Estuary south of Auckland, Don had ideas of stillness and isolation in mind for the new album. "I thought it was going to be a solitary, quiet record," Don says, "I wanted to hibernate". However, the music got the better of Don. "Some of the songs that came out had their own ideas, they were much more positive and sociable." The album was eventually recorded with a team of New Zealand's finest musicians, working between Auckland's Roundhead studio and more remote seaside locations.
