Love Committee - Love Committee (1980) [Reissue 2011]

Love Committee, from Philadelphia, PA., had a brief run with little to show for their efforts. Never scoring that hit record, the four-man vocal group's career was short. Individually, Michael Bell, Norman Frazier, Joe Freeman, and future Temptation Ron Tyson made up LC. The material on this self-titled album was for the most part supplied by O'Jay Eddie Levert, plus a hodgepodge of co-writers. It took four producers for this? All of the sides sound like LC trying to be the O'Jays. Sadly, the voices, songs, productions, background singers and mix didn't make the grade. Ron Tyson's Eddie Kendricks-sounding falsetto is nowhere to be found.
