On October 26th the new album by drummer Giuseppe "Pippo" D'Ambrosio is released, the fourth as leader, who composed, arranged and conducted the 13 tracks of this record and which finds inspiration in the writings of the ancient Sufi poets Abd al -Qadir al-Jilani, Farid Ad-Din 'Attar ”, Jalal al Din Rumi for a reflection on peace as an interior and universal dimension.

The ticking of a typewriter introduces us to the record and is the background to the narrating voice of David Place (struggling with the verses written by the project leader himself) to introduce The Pen And The Ink, the atmosphere immediately becomes incandescent with the wind line up of Distante / Rubini / Lomangino, with the turntablism of Tuppi B, with solo guitar support by Alberto Parmegiani.

Not a wrong note, and here we are not just talking about technique, we are talking above all about emotionality, the same that moves Cartago's keyboards, Luisi's vibraphone, the voices of Donatella Montinaro and Serena Fortebraccio, while the rhythm (Bardoscia and D ' Ambrosio) becomes the driving force of a modernity that, starting from an instrumental mastery established over the years, makes us rock with a music (neo-soul, funk, alternative? Here the labels can be wasted) that oozes modernity from every cell. It is as if D'Angelo, Erykah Badu and company singing had become involved in the warmth of the south of Italy to give life to a mixture of sweet emotions and dark and spiritual sunshine.

A quiet place to let yourself go and also - why not - forget the difficult times we are going through, an antidote to the sadness that is increasingly polluting our daily lives. And if you really want confirmation, listen to the voice of little Ermes - a very successful entry - in Winter Is Over and Mike Rubini's phrasing of the alto in Changes. You will understand what I want to express. “A Peaceful Place”. Stay around here. You will not regret it.
