Ensemble Acht - Schäfer: Kammermusik (2020)

Stefan Schäfer is familiar with the phenomenon of music from a wide variety of angles. His work combines the double bass player's decades of experience as an orchestra and chamber musician, the passionate theatre and band musician with that of the composer. Schäfer's catalogue of works includes numerous compositions for his own instrument, songs, chamber music and orchestral works, which have been performed in renowned concert halls and awarded composition prizes.

The present album of chamber music works is also due to the interaction with the Ensemble Acht, the chamber music formation that has been Stefan Schäfer's artistic home and source of creative power throughout his professional life. In addition to a work for the core formation of Ensemble Acht, which consists of five strings, clarinet, bassoon and horn, works for string quintet, piano quintet and horn quintet can be heard here.
