Baden Powell - Live in Berlin (2000/2015) [Hi-Res]

On this Saturday in April 2000 we were all unaware of the extraordinary event we should attend - on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Brazil, we were expecting one of the great masters of the Brazilian guitar in Berlin: Baden Powell - it was to be his last concert in Germany . The Volksbühne prepared the big stage for the “Brazil 500” festival for the man who knew better than anyone how to merge Afro-Brazilian and European music culture: and his appearance in the obligatory white suit was the highlight of the celebrations .
With his virtuoso, stylish guitar playing he succeeded in keeping the audience in the fully occupied hall in awe and concentrated stiffness for over two hours. He has recorded around 60 albums, composed over 100 songs, combined styles as diverse as samba, jazz and baroque elements in his guitar playing and co-founded the bossa nova.
