Joris Verdin, Christ Church Schola Cantorum, Stephen Kennedy - A Sunday in Paris (2016) [Hi-Res]

This recording features music for harmonium that a Parisian might hear on a typical Sunday in the mid 19th century---at the church (with choir) and at a salon concert in the evening. The program includes many works heard on recording for the first time with original instrumentation --- works by Franck, Saint-Saëns, Gounod, Berlioz, Lemmens, Dubois and Lefébure-Wely. The Christ Church Schola Cantorum (Rochester, NY) directed by Stephen Kennedy joins harmonium virtuoso Joris Verdin to recreate an important musical soundscape of 19th century France.
