Cumbiasound is a Nu-Cumbia project. Highly original and organic. Original compositions with strong roots in classic colombian Cumbia and Peruvian Chicha mixed with Reggae, Balkan, Afrobeat, Funk, Soul, Jazz and Proggressive music played on real instruments by real people- it’s Real Music!

The creator of the music, Daniel Fridell was born in 1979. Musician and Producer since 34 years. Multiinstrumentalist. Lover of music from all over the world. During his travels in Colombia he fell in love with the classic Cumbia with it’s deep roots in the african rythms , the colorful latin flavour and the Chicha spice! Daniel has his background in Jazz, Funk, Soul and Balkan music and is based in Sweden but was living in Denmark for over 10 years- studying, playing and producing music. Albums, music for theatreplays, music for commercials, TV shows, live shows, touring Europe, Africa, USA- Daniel is a experienced gentleman who puts his heart and soul in every project.
On this first official EP: VOL 1 - INSTRUMENTALES- long time friend and colleague Erik Axelsson joined Daniel in the studio contributing with some groovy trombone/ euphonium flavors.
