Here's a bit about each song on the album:

"She Knows" - This song is about trusting your gut when you’re leaving a bad situation in search of a better one.

"Gimme Gimme" - I wrote this song when I moved to Nashville from Los Angeles and was adjusting to the slower change of pace. I found myself online a lot, buying more and more things and feeling happy every time a package arrived at my door. I would go to bed thinking about what I would buy the next day. It was definitely the beginning of a hoarding situation that I needed to control!

"My Brain Is A Computer" - This song is about screens, and how I felt like I was always in front of them. I’d wake up, check my phone, work on my computer all day, and watch TV in the evenings to relax. I started wondering if this was sort-of a 'mind control scheme' to pacify people. Obviously it is, but writing this song was in the midst of my realization.

"Name That Tune" - This one's about mental illness and loving someone who’ll never get better or be there like you want them to be. My mom was in a cult from the time I was about 7 years old. I couldn’t talk to her without her telling me that I was a bad person for not searching out “the truth”, and how sad she was that I was going to hell. It was quite the mind-f**k as a preteen. Eventually she disappeared into the night, and I didn’t see her again until I found her at age 24. She’s inspired lots of songs. This is just one of many. I call her 'my first heartbreak', although I’m grateful for her in many ways. Her having the balls to leave when she was not stable gave me an overall very stable life with my Dad and amazing Stepmother.

"Roses" - This song is about being head-over-heels with a long-distance love. I would be on cloud nine when we were together, but I'd get really depressed when he would leave. Luckily I married his ass and get to spend lots of time with him!

"Getaway" - This is the the first song I wrote when I left everything I knew in America and moved overseas. While so many people were trying to get IN to the country, I was getting out. Don’t get me wrong, I love my country and I'm SO proud of where I come from. I was just itching for an international experience, and thought it would be the perfect timing. Who knows - I might move back tomorrow - but it’s nice to take a break from the madness.

"More" - This song is about temptation and being determined to not let it ruin a good thing.

"I’m OK" This one is all about forgiveness. It’s taken me a while to do it, but I have.

"Stop. Be Happy." - I wrote this song after I had my son. I, like lots of new mothers, went through a period of post-partum depression. I felt really sad that the key people who should be in my son’s life are not here and never will be. It started off as a lullaby that I would hum to him at night, but after putting words to it, I guess I was channeling a message that maybe these key people wanted to say, “Stop. Be Happy." Stop and be grateful for the time you have with people, big or small.
