This is the second installment from the Classics R&B label chronicling 23 recordings (four previously unreleased) of New Orleans bandleader, arranger, and producer Dave Bartholomew. 1950-1952 found Bartholomew recording with the Todd Rhodes Band, the Royal Kings, and on a Decca session that included New Orleans vocalist Tommy Ridgely. Shortly after these sessions, Bartholomew would begin his long association as Fats Domino's producer for the Imperial label. ~Al Campbell
