Grant Calvin Weston, one of the most outstanding of the new generation of drummers, has worked in a variety of musical contexts, including spells with Ornette Coleman's Prime Time band, James 'Blood' Ulmer and John Lurie's Lounge Lizards. His debut recording as leader presents his own powerful musical message - a potent mixture of jazz, funk and blues - with sterling support from Ulmer and Jamaaladeen Tacuma. On three tracks the trio is augmented by alto saxophonist and singer, Fostina Dixon.
