Giuseppe Emmanuele - The Arranger and the Composer (2020)

Giuseppe Emmanuele enriches his discography with another work of breath, congenial to him, "symphonic", published both on CD and on LP. The material is vast (just under 90 'of music) and the subdivision of the tracks means that the product on vinyl is, fundamentally, different from the content of the CD. The use of forces could be defined as pharaonic when compared to current jazz formations and the soloists present are the best that the national scene can offer, except for the French Anne Ducros and the Icelandic Hanna Fridriksdottir. The somewhat composite repertoire alternates original creations with famous jazz standards where orchestras act as a glue. A job, therefore, that tries to get out of the routine of current consumer jazz or, worse still, in the background. And, given the premises, listening promises to be very interesting. Vinyl edition contains a slightly different lineup.
