Wayman Tisdale's second album, In the Zone, suffers from the same problems of his debut Power Forward. Although it is evident that Tisdale has affection for smooth urban R&B and jazz fusion, he has just enough skills and instinct to make his music pleasant, but not enough to make it engaging.
