Après un CD consacré à Liszt puis un deuxième à Schubert, le pianiste français Tristan Pfaff (* 1985) nous montre qu’il ne cherche pas à être vu comme « spécialiste » de tel ou tel répertoire, compositeur ou genre. Et dans quel répertoire peut-on puiser pour montrer le mieux son éclectisme ? Dans celui des bis bien sûr, ces petits (ou parfois assez gros) bonbons tour à tour rêveurs, outrageusement virtuoses, coquins, époustouflants ou émouvants. Pfaff a choisi de ne pas choisir, de sorte qu’il surfe du quasi-jazz de Gershwin à la Tartine de beurre de Mozart, de Schubert à Rachmaninov, avec le même bonheur et toujours avec une sonorité choisie pour le genre qu’il aborde. Un fort beau choix qui saura plaire à tout le monde.
