Dives - Teenage Years Are Over (2019)

Garage Pop from Vienna, adult, diverse, incredibly good. The DIVES are a trio from Vienna, found each other at the Girls Rock Camp, released an EP in 2017 and are now releasing their debut album. "Teenage Years Are Over" (Siluh) shows a mature band that must have gained a lot of self-confidence in the past two years. Rightly so, because music can make them fantastic. It is surfy garage pop, which is usually extremely tight. Well written, with dramaturgy, always moving. Sleater Kinney come up or Bleached, which are then also covered ("Looking for a Fight"). DIVES deliver melodies that accompany you forever, but also know how to deliver stumbled punk. “Pumpkin” goes back to the beginnings of the punk with us when it was crooked and troubled.
