One of the finest recordings of André Cluytens, who is still very popular in Japan, who mainly worked in France from Belgium and recorded on the Berlin Philharmonic and former EMI label. For this reprint, a new mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer, using a master that was digitized at the latest 96 kHz / 24 bit from a master tape in the UK. Included in this set is the Beethoven: Complete Symphony Completed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in a session recording for the first time under one conductor.
