All four songs performed by Magali Noel have been written and produced by Boris Vian (1920–1959), a French polymath: writer, poet, musician, singer, translator, critic, actor, inventor and engineer, author of the novels 'L'Ecume des jours' (translated variously as 'Froth on the Daydream', 'Mood Indigo' and 'Foam of the Daze') and 'I Shall Spit on Your Graves' (written twice: in French and in English by Boris Vian himself as a proof of existence of the "original American author Vernon Sullivan", invented by Boris).
Boris Vian become interested in Rock'n'Roll in 1956, after the stage on USA of your friend Michel Legrand who taked from America some rock'n'roll discs. In collaboration with Michel Legrand (= Big Mike -> Mig Bike) and his other friend Henri Salvador he written at a stretch four rock'n'rolls 'for man' (at once performed by Henri Salvador and issued as mysterious 'Henry Cording ans his Rock and Roll Boys') and four ones 'for woman'. He proposed these high-risk 'female' rock'n'rolls to Magali Noel, 24-years-old actress (afterwards 'Gradisca' on 'Amarcord').
The label Philips hasn't dare to released these songs 'as is' ('Fais-moi mal Johhny' was the first sado-maso song, plus 'Strip-rock'... - after all that was in 1956!) and issued them firstly as LP album in company of inoffensive instrumental rock'n'rolls such as 'Rock Around The Clock' performed by Michel Legrand & his Big Orchestra. Magali Noel has no concern to this 'instrumental environment'.
