Historic record of the Isselstedt & Vienna Philharmonic is the world's first SA-CD! New mastering in the home country from the original analog master.

This complete collection, recorded by DECCA from 1965 to 1969, was the first session recording of the complete Beethoven: Symphony for the Vienna Philharmonic. The combination of Isselstadt and DECCA is also only two types of Beethoven's complete piano concerto completed as a soloist with the back house from 1958-59 (the prelude not recorded this time will be recorded as a separate coupling later) It was a valuable record for Isselstadt, who did not record much at the time. The complete collection, completed in 1969, became a centerpiece of the recordings of Beethoven's 200th birthday in 1970, and since its arrival in Japan before and after has left many famous performances, its popularity has risen. It is also known for having gained the support of many listeners as a representative of Le Stedt. Since the CD era, since the early King edition appeared, even after imports, there were few opportunities to be remastered and the whole collection was rare, so it may have been a rather forgotten performance. However, in addition to being an excellent recording by DECCA at the time of its heyday, the performance was also successful because there was no opportunity to usually conduct the Vienna Philharmonic, or both sides challenged the recording with a sense of tension, including interest It is a performance that is all positive, because it was an ambitious performance that wanted to feel each other positively, the northern German robustness of Isselstadt and the bright and growing style by the Vienna Philharmonic It is a recording that is rarely seen, which fuses wonderfully. The recording by DECCA started from "Hero" in 1965, and the producer is the son of Eric Smith, except for the last seventh recording. However, it is interesting to note that the engineers are distributed to four people, and the characteristics differ depending on the recording year, and the difference will be clearly visible in this reprint, especially in the SA-CD layer. A clear recording with a sense of scale at the beginning, a one-point recording that is well-organized as a single space seen in the middle of the countryside, especially in April '67, and a musical instrument whose quality rises as it becomes late. The texture and atmosphere are attractive. You will be able to enjoy the sound of DECCA that is gradually completed with unprecedented quality. The only thing that remains the same is their solid approach to Beethoven. In the production of this series, high-quality digitalization (DSD) is performed after physically maintaining and restoring the original analog master tape of the home country, and the dedicated engineer of the home country's label performs a detailed process for this series. Took a long time to do the mastering work.

Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt's Beethoven cycle was a long time connoisseur's choice for best overall cycle back when Bernstein and Karajan dominated the standard recommendations.

Looking forward to hearing how it holds up in 2020.
