Maybe This Christmas, Too is the second installment in Nettwerk's Christmas album series and again collects some of indie rock's best and modern rock chart-toppers for an enjoyable holiday listen. Artists like Rilo Kiley, Guster, and the Be Good Tanyas go against tradition to deliver their own Christmas carols. Keeping with such a formula, Rufus Wainwright's "Spotlight on Christmas," which was exclusively recorded for this compilation, is classic chamber pop with a warm spirit. Adult contemporary chanteuse Chantal Kreviazuk hooks up with a fellow Canadian, punk dollface Avril Lavigne, for their own version of "O Holy Night," while the Flaming Lips get a little bit funky on "White Christmas." Maybe This Christmas, Too will appeal to both casual and die-hard music fans of all ages. Like the music, the artwork done by Cosmic Debris (Emily the Strange, Oopsy Daisy) is equally fetching. A portion of the proceeds made from Maybe This Christmas, Too once again went to Toys for Tots, a charity supported by the U.S. Marine Corps.
