The Secret Souls - All of the Moments (2019)

The sunset over the stretched out boulevard of Dumbarton road in the heart of Glasgow’s west end on a beautiful Thursday night at the tail end of the summer 2017, Steve Young, Alto saxophone hanging from his shoulder was to have a chance encounter at the Bag O Nails open mic that would delight his ears and fire a chain of events that would result in the, as yet unnamed The Secret Souls producing their debut EP by the end of the year. As Irene Wilson and Steve sat down after jamming together to appreciation from the delighted audience, a connection was made in Steve’s mind with a collection of songs he’d been writing for the last few years and that wonderful voice he’d just heard. This was a voice with tone, soulful, innocent yet sophisticated, a voice that resonated at a deep emotional level, a voice Steve would love to work with and produce records with. The voice reminded him a little of Randy Crawford, Etta James, Ruby Turner, Adele it was of that quality but still uniquely Irene Wilson , a recording voice, that people wouldn’t tire of hearing. They ordered a drink, sat down and they talked music with passion and plotted the rise of The Secret Souls who would be joined very soon by Aidan McIntosh a brilliant, classically trained pianist and guitar player.
