You can be a prestigious classical musician and also be passionate about other musical trends, like jazz for example. This is the case of the Ukrainian pianist Dimitri Naïditch. Since 1988 he has accumulated awards (4 First Prizes at the Kiev Conservatory and several International Prizes) and has been living in France since 1991.

He has performed in various jazz festivals in Eastern Europe, Switzerland, Italy and teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. "In the opinion of a clown", his first album was released in 1996. Since He played solo, with symphony orchestras or with musicians like Didier Lockwood, Gilles Apap, Richard Galliano, Andy Sheppard ...

In 2012, he was invited by Jean-François Zygel for a concert on the theme "Bach en jazz", then for a rewrite of Mozart's 40th symphony in jazz. In 2013 Dimitri Naïditch presents "Tchaikovsky in jazz".

The CD "Bach up" inaugurates a new collection of "classical jazz" initiated by the pianist and named "New Time Classics". On the program of this first opus: 10 titles revisited by the artist including the famous "Prelude in C Major N 1", "Violin Concerto in The Minor, BWV 1041", "Fugue in C Minor N 2, WTC 1" or still "Badinerie, Suite for Orchestra N 2 in B Minor, BWV 1067" ...

The talent of the pianist makes it possible to conjugate with happiness the work of Bach with the freedom inherent in the jazz without that striking or shocking the amateurs of these two styles. Because what makes the success of interpretation of such a project is due to the immense respect shown by the musician for classical composers.

For this disc dedicated to Bach, Dimitri Naïditch surrounded himself with Gilles Naturel on bass and Arthur Alard on drums. An album that should pleasantly surprise the amateurs of Bach, the fans of jazz and the curious ones of all hairs ... B.Jean
