My Darling YOU! - 16 Major Problems (2006)

A Swedish indie duo on a Peruvian label? What the chuff? Goteborgian's MY DARLING YOU! provide effortlessly catchy indie pop, some acoustic, some electric, all supremely good quality. Smart, wry lyrics, warm production, accomplished arrangements, they appear to have it all in spades. The South American label Plastilina loved their three EPs so much they've collected them all on one fine digipak CD. It's the drum machine & cheap organ sound I love here. A bit of Field Mice maybe? A dash of Violent Femmes? They Might be Giants without the quirkiness? A hug of Grandaddy? A touch of Thee More Shallows? Just really, really good songs. That's all I can do to heartily recommend this.....go on treat yerself
