Lou Gramm - Mystic foreigner (1997)

The holder of a high notable voice Lou Gramm is known primarily as the frontman of "Foreigner", however, throughout his musical career he has had all sorts of other projects. Lou Grammatiko (his real name) was born in Rochester on May 2, 1950. He came to rock music in the second half of the 60s, and did not begin at all with a microphone, but with drums. Drumming for several years in small-town teams, Lou was in the ranks of the group "Black Sheep". It was in this blues-rock gang, which sought to work in the spirit of "Free", our hero tried himself in the role of vocalist. "Black Sheep" were a fairly successful team, and they even managed to sign a contract with the company "Chrysalis Records", which released a pair of their records.
The group toured with artists such as Kiss, Argent, Ten Years After and Ted Nugent, however, during one of the tours, they lost their tools and all equipment (the truck with the equipment turned over), and this was the beginning of its end. While the guys rummaged around in their pockets with the intention of collecting the necessary amount for damages, Lou was attracted to his guitarist Mick Jones, who organized with him a team called "Foreigner".
"Foreigners" quickly went uphill, and their records diverged in huge print runs. Until the mid-80s, the team stamped a lot of hits, but later the Gramm-Jones hitmaker tandem began to slip. Relations between the musicians worsened, the project was temporarily frozen, and Lou formed a vacuum for the first solo album. The album "Ready Or Not" turned out to be very successful, and the lion's share of success fell on the song "Midnight Blue", which turned out to be in the top five. In 1987, the song became the most scrollable single on the radio, and in addition, the title track and some other tracks from "Ready Or Not" went on the air.
Having realized himself in this way, Gramm returned to Foreigner, but during the Inside Information sessions it turned out that he and Jones still had different views on creativity, and soon the vocalist resigned. The second solo album, Lou, was also in good demand, due to the songs "Just Between You & Me" (Top 10) and "True Blue Love" (Top 40).
In 1991, the musician assembled the “Shadow King” team, which included ex-Black Sheep bassist Bru Tegon, future Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and drummer Kevin Valentine. The band signed a contract with Atlantic Records and released one record, which, despite flattering reviews, still failed. There were two reasons for this: the changed musical climate and the lack of good promotion. The “Shadow King” collapsed safely, but by that time Gramm and Jones had already buried the ax of war, and the “Foreigner” was soon revived. In the 90s, “foreigners” continued to work with fairly satisfactory success, but in 1997, Lu left the game altogether, because he had a brain tumor. Gramm had to undergo an operation and the vocalist could return to normal touring activity only two years later.
Lou worked at Foreigner for several more years, and in 2003 he was again drawn to free bread. Leaving the "foreigners", he organized a family band, which included his brothers Richard (bass, guitar) and Ben (drums). "The Lou Gramm Band" mainly engaged in concerts, but in 2008 they were going to record an album made in the genre of "Christian rock".
