Music is fun. Our goal with this recording is to give you the feel of good friends sharing their favorite songs together on a warm summer evening. All of the rhythm sounds on this production were made by items found right where you are sitting. A desk, chair arms, the hambone (that's your body!), finger snaps, etc. Get involved. Why Rise? Just like the mystical Phoenix, we humans tend to rise again and again - no matter what life throws at us. If we keep our hearts open, our new flights can be beautiful. Fly high. We believe in you.

Who is Phoenix? Based in Salem, Oregon - the duo Phoenix consists of award winning songwriters Tim and Kathy Crosby - who have been well known in the bluegrass world since 2005 as half of the quartet Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising.
