Originating from his residency at l’Apostrophe Scène National de Cergy-Pontoise et du Val d’Oise (a multidisciplinary arts project), Pierre de Bethmann takes us on a high-fl ying journey, the result of shared work with a rare coherence and recorded in a remarkable acoustic very close to a concert setting.
With the eight wind instruments blended together over the course of a huge range of melodic ideas, a voice treated like an instrument itself and a rhythm section of astonishing deftness, Pierre de Bethmann has created a new framework which allows his writing to explore numerous sound worlds – all in the service of some mind-blowing solos.
