Mark Shock - Mark Shock (2019)

New York based singer-songwriter Mark Shock brings an Alt-Country style to his music. A performer since the age of twelve, Mark moved from Michigan to New York City in 2004 to pursue an acting/singing career. While performing in the 2009 off-Broadway play Our Town, he taught himself to play guitar while backstage, and soon after began writing and recording original music. Mark’s country-rock infused melodies, rooted in acoustic guitar, are reminiscent of classic, early Eagles recordings, with vocals akin to Kenny Chesney and lyrics based in vibrant storytelling. His influences range from Bob Seger, John Denver and Paul Simon to Tim McGraw, Otis Redding and Elvis Presley. Mark's debut album, Far From the End, was released in October 2014. Since then, he has released six additional singles. Mark's latest single, Far Away, was released in July 2018. Several of Mark’s original songs have been heard on High Plains Public Radio out of Amarillo, TX, and he has been featured on both The Bill Russo Show and Cees World of Music on the City World Radio Network. In May 2018, Clive Swersky, host of the TV show Alive with Clive, described Mark as a "singer-songwriter who is fully in alignment with his true calling and passion in life" and that "the sound of Mark’s songs is as pleasing to the soul as a rejuvenating breeze on a hot summer day is to the senses!” Mark is continually writing and recording new music, and can currently be seen performing throughout New York City.
