Recording in England for the first time, with producer Geoff Westley and British session pros, Battisti adopts the burgeoning new wave/pop sounds of the day for an album dominated by pulsating bass, synthesizers, and electronic drums. Mogol's lyrics, on the other hand, appear closer to the romantic musings of their early-'70s classics than they had been in years, dealing exclusively with relationships and everyday situations in his trademark conversational style. Featuring several late Battisti-Mogol standards, such as the title track and "Aver Paura D'innamorarsi Troppo," Una Donna per Amico became the most successful album of Battisti's career.
