Dorilla in Tempe, créé à Venise en 1726, dégage une délicieuse ambiance agreste. Le livret propose une intrigue pastorale ayant pour cadre une vallée de Thessalie. Entre péripéties amoureuses et sacrifice monstrueux, les mésaventures de cette Dorilla offrent à Vivaldi l’occasion de déployer une palette lumineuse où les cors de chasse et les flûtes soutiennent souvent chœurs et solistes. Il reprendra l’œuvre en 1728, toujours à Venise, puis en 1732 à Prague, et une dernière fois, en 1734, à « son » théâtre Sant’Angelo. Seule cette version de 1734 nous est parvenue, et elle sert donc de base au présent enregistrement. Il s’agit d’un « pasticcio », pour lequel Vivaldi a eu recours à différents compositeurs – en l’occurrence Hasse, Giacomelli, Sarri et Leo – dont les airs remplacent certains de ses propres airs ; environ un tiers des airs sont empruntés aux collègues. Loin de Vivaldi l’idée de pratiquer du recyclage en douce ou de faire dans la facilité : le principe du « pasticcio » était des plus répandus alors, et fort goûté du public. On remarquera l’effectif vocal particulièrement rare : presque exclusivement des voix graves, dont trois mezzos, un baryton et – du moins à l’époque de Vivaldi – deux castrats graves, remplacés de nos jours par des contraltos, nettement plus faciles à dégoter. Toute la partition dégage une énergie folle ; une délicieuse particularité vient orner l’une des parties de l’ouverture, dans laquelle Vivaldi a repris l’un des mouvements de ses Quatre saisons, avec ajout de chœur – preuve que cette musique, pourtant si riche à la base, pouvait encore être enrichie, pour peu que l’on s’appelle Vivaldi et qu’on soit un génie. Diego Fasolis et son ensemble I Barrochisti nous donnent l’une des très, trop rares interprétations discographiques de ce chef-d’œuvre négligé.

Maybe Naive removed one of their earlier additions, i.e. recording originally made for a different record company? But, as you said it makes no sense and leads to confusion. Only Vivaldi knows.

Naïve switched from "Tesori del Piemonte" to "Vivaldi Edition " by removing other composers ?
As you know, "Tesori del Piemonte" is a recording project from the National University Library in Turin that have many Vivaldi's manuscripts and other composers' ones.
And new "Vivaldi Edition" seems only Vivaldi's works not only from that library but also from other sources.
At least naïve should leave other composers' recordings in different series name even if other composers' new recording is impossible.
