Stables - Reverie (2018)

Stables - Reverie (2018)

BAND/ARTIST: Stables

From the very beginning, Stables (an alt-folk project conceptualised and brought to life by its two founding members, Matthew and Daniel) began their journey with big ambitions and a clearly-defined sound. With a will to make the dream attainable, the band grew rapidly from their humble beginnings and secured enthusiastic supporters early on (with 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Glastonbury championing the duo’s high energy dynamics) their debut album came soon after; since the duo have been fully devoting their time to touring – spreading joy to all in venues across the UK and Germany.

Having just launched the new campaign for their second album, Stables are sharing the first material from the release – ‘Reverie,’ the title track leads. A Lumineers-esque ballad of spine-tingling two-part harmonies, wistful storytelling and thrilling builds. Whilst lyrically it treads a familiar line of misfit love and the never-lasting, Stables infuse character in their poetry with lines, like: “Born to outcasts / we lost in reverie / the time / the passing / the never / the lasting dream that we bathed in spun from a fishing wire.”
