Titanic" is one of the few (if not only) of the Norwegian bands that managed to gain international fame in the 70-ies. This band from Oslo was formed in 1969 by four musicians: Kjell Asperud (vocals, percussion), Janni Lozet (guitar), John Lorck (drums) and Kenny AAS (bass, keyboards). Nothing special team in itself is not until it joined vocalist-Englishman Roy Robinson, who became the main lyricist. With the help of "Titanic" quickly became the leading Norwegian band, and in 1970, the band performed outside the country. Then, in part, a bass guitarist Arica Siggs, which allowed Kenny AAS focus on keyboards.
Soon the team signed a contract with "CBS Records", and by the autumn of the debut vinyl "Titanic" went on sale. The audience liked the style of the group a La "Santana", and the musicians were invited to perform at the international film festival in Cannes, where they had to accompany the presentation of a documentary about Woodstock.
Another important moment for the ascent of the Titanic was its appearance at the AIX-en-Provence festival. Among the local population in "Titanic" showed a large number of fans, the band decided to move to France permanently. In 1971 released the most successful single of the Titanic – "Sultana". This song became the number one hit in France and even reached the fifth place in the British charts. Two more songs ("Santa Fe" and "Rain 2000") were a little less successful, but still added to the group's popularity and greatly contributed to the sales of the first three albums.
Unfortunately, after this breakthrough, the team began to decline, and instead of a European tour, she had to settle for exotic tours to Africa and the Middle East. In 1973 left Kenny AAS, handing the keys in keeping Helge Groslie.
On the album "Ballad of a rock'n'roll loser" musicians tried to change direction, turning to the Blues and folk, but success was slow to come back to "Titanic". The contract with "CBS" was lost and it was almost three years before the release of the next album. On "Return of Drakkar" the team debuted a new players – Claude Chambosse (keyboards) and Sandler Bryne (bass, vocals). However, personnel changes did not help save the "Titanic", and after the commercial failure of the "Eye of the hurricane" Norwegian ship went to the bottom. In the 80-ies of the firm "CBS Records" released three restovich "Titanic" collection (two of them double).
Already in the early 90's, the crew of the "sunken ship" in the face of Roy Robinson and Yanni Lozet tried to revive the glorious name of "Titanic". In the company bass guitarist Runar of Hyosung and drummer Trond Rabben they released on the label "Metal Enterprises" hard rock album "Lower The Atlantic" after which the group once again disappeared from sight.
At the beginning of the 21st century, Yanni settled again in the South of France, where he assembled a Blues-rock project with the Englishman Mick Walker (bass) and Australian Phil Wilton (saxophone). A little later they were joined by the Swiss Didier bloom (drums), and when Lozet invited Robinson to the microphone, it was decided to return to the name "Titanic". Several years rose from the bottom of the ship sailed the European expanses, and in early 2009, the sale of a new "Titanic" creation "Ashes and Diamonds".
