Eugenio Della Chiara, born in 1990 in Pesaro, Italy, started studying the guitar at the age of 8, under the direction of Simona Barzotti. Among his Maestros there have been Piero Bonaguri, Andrea Dieci and Oscar Ghiglia, of whom he has been a student at the Chigiana Academy of Siena.

In 2010 - under the direction of Giuseppe Ficara - he graduated in guitar with top marks and honours at the “G. Rossini” Conservatoire of Pesaro. He completed his education in humanities at the Università Cattolica of Milan, obtaining a First Level Degree in Classical Studies and later on a Master’s Degree in Modern Philology, presenting a thesis on Rossini’s Cenerentola which was rewarded with honours. Among the awards he received - being the first musician to obtain such a result more than once - there are two scholarships granted by the “Fondazione Rossini” he won in 2008 and 2010. From 2016, he is part of Illumia People, a programme by which the company from Bologna supports figures considered as sources of inspiration in music, art and sports.

His many concerts have allowed him to perform solo recitals in prestigious concert halls – including the Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo, the Vangi Museum in Mishima, the Teatro della Casa d’Italia of Istanbul, the Auditorium of Palais Sternberg in Vienna, the Teatro Alighieri of Ravenna, the Casa della Musica of Parma, the Auditorium Pedrotti of Pesaro and the Teatro Abbado of Ferrara – playing for major institutions such as laVERDI, the Rossini Opera Festival, the Chigiana Academy of Siena, the Società dei Concerti di Parma, the Angelo Mariani Music Association and the Italian Cultural Institutes in Istanbul and Vienna.

New compositions have been dedicated to him by Carlo Galante, Davide Anzaghi, Paolo Ugoletti, Pippo Molino, Marco Reghezza, Alessandro Spazzoli and Roberto Tagliamacco. A passionate chamber musician, he plays in a guitar duo with Andrea Dieci and has undertaken the repertoire for guitar and strings with Aya Shimura and Piercarlo Sacco (cellist and violinist of the Sentieri Selvaggi ensemble respectively). In June 2017 he performed the Arpeggione Sonata by Schubert – in a duo with fortepiano – using a guitar which was constructed by Johann Georg Stauffer in 1815.

His interest in vocalism and Italian music theatre allows him to collaborate frequently with opera singers, above all with tenor Juan Francisco Gatell. As for drama, he collaborates with actor Alessio Boni. Together with AMAT, he has created MU.N - Music Notes in Pesaro chamber music season, of which he has been the artistic director ever since its first edition in 2015.

In January 2018, his first CD for DECCA was released – Guitarra Clásica – which collects some rare transcriptions for guitar from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven carried out by Francisco Tárrega, Miquel Llobet and Andrés Segovia. Before that, he recorded three CDs for Phoenix Classics and Discantica; among these, Guitar recital – laVERDI sessions (Discantica / laVERDI) stands out, including the first recording of the Sonata per chitarra composed by Luciano Chailly in 1976. He plays a 1935 Domingo Esteso and a 2009 Masaki Sakurai.
