Sasha Strunin - Autoportrety (2019)

Miron Białoszewski's oasis was again given a musical interpretation. This time, thanks to Sasha Strunin and her latest self-portrait album. The vocalist once again invited the American composer, arranger and trumpeter Gary Guthman to cooperate. The recording was also attended by pianist Filip Wojciechowski, double bass player Paweł Pańta and drummer Cezary Konrad.

The album consists of nine compositions written by Guthman. Adam Baruch, a jazz critic and blogger, has included this material for the most ambitious attempts to translate the work of Karuzela with Madonnas into the language of music.

Sasha Strunin has been present on Polish and European stages since 2005. Four years later her debut LP was released. Despite the successes of commercial projects, it changed its image and in 2016, in collaboration with Guthman, recorded the swing album Woman In Black. Self-portraits will be released on June 21 by Soliton.
