Projects led by Alfio Origlio, this trio is certainly the most original. If you do not know him yet despite the fact that we've already encouraged you to follow him in concert, try to imagine, yes I know it will be difficult ... Keyboards of the leader, acoustic and electric pianos, synthesizer and other keyboard bass to deliver the lines of the same name, he has joined the collaboration and almost the merger of two masters: one uses his palms, his fingers, his hands sometimes extended by chopsticks and other brooms in all genres to sound his percussion kit and some cymbals too: Stéphane Edouard; the other has only his mouth, he is human beatboxeur: Alem (Maël Gayaud).

The story began with two, with the vocalist, a first concert in September 2012, a few others and in 2014, the need for a trio. It is almost necessary then, but not necessarily essential, to "see" this music to try to identify who does what; curiosity supplants a little the listening at that moment. As the case might not necessarily lend itself to encoding on a CD, Alfio Origlio had the excellent idea to individualize original compositions and collaborative with guests ... Given the address book at its disposal , just call: some did not hesitate a second, others gave up. Among the guitarists (Alfio often says that he would have liked to be a "guitar hero" ...) you will have the choice to prefer Emmanuel Heyner, Nguyên Lê, Louis Winsberg or Cédric Baud, excuse the little; for the voices, by order of entry on the track also: Hyleen, Célia Kameni, Ibrahim Dabré and Minimo Garay and for the saxophones Philippe Sellam is solitary, with the viola of course but also with the soprano.

From this energizing gang I paraphrase my emotions talking about Alem: "The harmonic waves marry with the incessant polyrhythms of this mouth become multi-instrumental. Micro pasted in front of the lips, all the cases and cymbals of the battery become traditional but also all the percussion instruments of the panel, including tablas that we hear, and almost at the same time. But these are also the specific sounds invented by hip hop with its scratch turntables, its samples and especially its frenzied rhythms for which it is impossible not to shake ... / ... ". To this undeniable discovery, Stéphane's still inventive percussions also know how to give the energy or softness of the most current rhythms that also use those of the historical references of music.

As an assertive mentor, Alfio Origlio likes to share his discoveries, his encounters. It is with the singer Hyleen that the chills tumble. After twelve measurements, almost banal, it flies away without warning and Last Call becomes completely soulfull (a very nice clip shows you all ...), the piano is erased and sensitive Moog flies in turn all, thrills guaranteed in truth ...

On stage improvisations are often free for the trio, here the adventure is orchestrated brilliantly for a range of atmospheres. The chronology of the titles is impeccable, Electric Discorder trio had launched the case, the eponymous title Bogota Airport repeats it until Smoke Bob developed by Alem, caused by Alfio and which, while delicacy, gives way to Célia Kaméni in chorister and then a delightful singer. It is Inner Waters that she cosigns with Alfio and turns the business towards a voluptuous and sensual music of the soul. Louis Winsberg is a masterful soloist, we know.

By the way, Stéphane Edouard evoked the Indian tablas and "says" his respect for the drummer Paco Séry, Alfio and Nguyen Le will have celebrated their homage to Ennio Morricone.

African music, Alfio knows her since he succeeded a certain Joe Zawinul alongside Salif Keïta. Kiba is another piece of choice of the disc: Alem introduces it with this very curious new instrument, the Gubal whose sound reminds those of the steel drums of Trinidad, the voice of Ibrahim Dabré then the exacerbated incantations of Philippe Sellam to the soprano.

Delusions of Minimo Garay, against a backdrop of screaming football stadium atmosphere, Philippe's viola angry, almost angry, then Alfio calm the acoustic piano playing. Listen well to his improvisation: inevitably hide his own melodies that haunt him indefinitely, a touch of Serenade in Loulou ...

The compositions of Alfio Origlio are as always tunes and harmonies that have become his and that he develops infinitely too; here is the contemporary music that merges genres and cultures, this is the mix of the day, the one that says that jazz is always creative and bearing a timeless benevolence.
